Ramanathpuram || Rameshwaram : Dhanushkodi Beach - Wonder Beach in India - Tamilnadu
====================================
In the southeast of Pamban Island in the state of Tamil Nadu, in India, Dhanushki is an abandoned town. It is about 24 km (15 mi) west of Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. It's south-east of Pamban. Rameswaram's cyclone was destroyed in 1964 and remains.
The Rameswaram region is subject to geomorphic activity of high intensity. The Geological Survey of India shows that, as a result of vertical tectonic movement of land parallel to the coastal line, the Southern section of Dhanushkodi, facing Gulf Mannar, decreased by nearly five metre (16 ft) in 1948 and 1949. As a consequence, the land stretching from the north to the south is about 0.5 kilometres (0.31 mi) in width, and is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi).
