Sukhwinder Singh on Shaurya musical talent contest 

Singer Sukhwinder Singh, who has been associated with the musical talent contest 'Shaurya’, says that the upcoming show will promote the talented youth of Jammu and Kashmir. 
Sukhwinder Singh interacted with the press at the song shoot of ‘Shaurya’ on 4th January in Mumbai.

Talking about the show, Singh said,

‘Shaurya’ is one of the biggest musical talent hunts of Jammu and Kashmir conceptualized and organized by Mausiqui Studios with active support from local administrations and celebrities like Sukhwinder Singh and Dilshaad Shabbir Shaikh.

Organizers of the show stated that Jammu city auditions will be held on 7th and 8th January 2021 at Abhinav Theatre while Srinagar city auditions will be held on 10th and 11th January 2021 at SKICC. The final performance will be held on 18th January in Srinagar, where the winners will perform with Sukhwinder Singh.

Laying out the eligibility criteria for the contestants the organisers said only musicians who are permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir or born in the Union Territory and fall in the age group of 18-35 years can participate in the contest.

They further stated that the contestants should be a permanent resident of Jammu & Kashmir or born in the Union Territory and he or she should be in the age group of 18-35 years and should be a vocalist or any instrument player.

Sukhwinder Singh is internationally known for singing "Jai Ho" from the film Slumdog Millionaire which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. He has won the National Film Award for best playback singing for the song 'Bismil' from Haider in 2015. He has sung several songs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Kannada, and Marathi films.
