At week 29 the average baby measures around 38cm and might weigh close to 1kg but this will vary from baby to baby. Their skin is smoothing out as they continue to put on fat which is now for energy rather than temperature regulation.

Your baby's brain has matured to the point where it can help regulate body temperature. By the time she's born, she'll have hundreds of billions of nerve cells – seems like a lot, but she won't produce any more after birth

Changes in Body:

- Your baby and womb are putting pressure on your stomach, which can give you heartburn.

- You may be suffering from varicose veins. This is where veins - generally in the legs

- Your belly button might start sticking out a bit now. It will go back in after your baby is born.

- You might have some stretch marks. They’re difficult to avoid, but they will fade after the birth with time.

Your Baby:

- The fetus is filling almost all the space in your uterus, and its head is more or less in proportion with the rest of the body.

- The eyebrows and eye-lashes are fully grown and the fetus has quite a lot of hair, which is still growing.

- Eyes which can now open and close, are beginning to focus.

- Your baby now 38 cm long and weighs roughly 1kg.

Baby's Movement:

- The fetus will be putting pressure on your stomach and diaphragm now and you will need to sit down and rest more often.

- You will probably be able to feel the fetus's bottom and feet as it moves around.
