Finland's muddy battle over super-polluting peat energy

Finland is the EU's largest consumer of peat energy, a fuel which releases more greenhouse gases than coal and that can cause catastrophic environmental damage. As many companies shift to cleaner energy, Finland's dependence on peat now appears to be coming to an end, raising fears for the thousands of jobs supported by the industry. Meanwhile efforts to restore the country's damaged peatlands have met with unexpected success.
