Chick-fil-A and Target Sue Poultry Producers for Price Fixing

Thanks to last year's chicken sandwich wars, chicken is more popular than ever.And the poultry industry is facing accusations that consumers have been paying too much for chicken.Both Chick-fil-A and Target have sued a laundry list of chicken producers for price-fixing.Chick-fil-A's lawsuit implicated 17 different suppliers, including giants like Tyson, Perdue, and Sanderson Farms.Those same companies, along with a mix of 16 other defendants, are also named in Target's lawsuit.Investigations into price-fixing in the chicken industry have been ongoing, so the accusations aren't revelatory.Unfortunately, for consumers, all this wrangling won’t help those of us who may have been overpaying for chicken.But at least it may keep the prices reasonable in the future
