BBC, 중국 언론발 '김치 국제표준' 논란 조명

The BBC has reported as false... China's claim that it's won global certification for the process it uses to make the staple Korean dish kimchi.
China was in fact given certification last week by the ISO for the production of Pao chai,... a type of Chinese fermented vegetable.
The BBC highlighted in an article on Monday that the ISO certification states explicitly that it does not apply to kimchi.
South Korea's agriculture ministry had already refuted the kimchi claim, noting that international standards for kimchi were agreed by the United Nations in 2001.
China's false claim was made first by the Global Times, a mouthpiece for the Chinese government, which called the certification "an international standard for the kimchi industry led by China."
