On Black Friday, the Manitoba government urged people to follow public health directives or face the consequences, as the province continues to see figures of COVID-19 cases that place pressure on the health care system.
While the 344 new cases revealed on Friday were a decrease from the 383 registered the day before, the province's chief public health officer said that the growing burden of COVID-19 on the system is overwhelming healthcare providers.
