The first lady IPS officer of Karnataka, D Roopa Moudgil has been appointed as Home Secretary to Government of Karnataka. Adding another feather in her cap, she becomes the first woman officer to achieve this feat. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu on Wednesday tendered his resignation after nine months as the head of administration of the Union Territory of India. According to sources, he could be the next Comptroller and Auditor General of India after Rajiv Mehrishi retires this week.Murmu made history after taking over as the first L-G of Jammu and Kashmir on 31 October 2019 after the state of J&K was bifurcated into two Union Territories, the other being Ladakh.
DMK legislator Ku Ka Selvam on Tuesday called on BJP National President JP Nadda in New Delhi but denied speculations he was joining the saffron party.
Mr Selvam, representing the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency in Chennai, praised "Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji" and wanted DMK president MK Stalin to snap ties with the Congress and condemn the outfit Karuppar Kootam for denigrating Tamil god Lord Murugan's "Kanda Shashti Kavacham" hymn.
