런웨이 맨 앞줄 대신 방구석 1열!
The pandemic has made big events for the public almost impossible to put on, and that includes this season's Seoul Fashion Week, normally one of the most highly anticipated events of the year.
The runway shows this time are online, as our Bae Eun-ji reports.
This may seem like a clip from a music video... but it's none other than a virtual runway show for Seoul Fashion Week.
The event is held every March and October, but COVID-19 has scuppered this year's plans.
The March show was cancelled, but for October, the show has gone digital, and takes the catwalk out to the streets of Seoul.
The organizers, Seoul city and the Seoul Design Foundation,... have used landmarks around Seoul, like Dongdaemun Design Plaza, as runways for the models to walk down.
"The original off-line event was only available to a small number of people. But as it is done virtually this year, anyone who's interested in the designers' collection can enjoy the runway shows."
One of the 45 designers participating in the event said viewers will be able to focus more on the collection and examine the clothes much more closely than before.
"Each designer was able to create their own video of the runway... in a way that can best express their brand identity... by choosing where to film and planning out the structure of the video."
The show will run from October 20th to 25th, with the runway videos livestreamed on Naver TV, V live mobile app, and the Seoul Fashion Week official website.
And for viewers overseas, it will also be streamed on WeChat.
After the livestream is over, the videos will be available on the Seoul Fashion Week's Youtube channel, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
There is also a live store for those who want to buy the pieces featured in the show on that day.
