#GoBackAmitShah Twitter trend greets BJP President on Chennai visit Amit Anilchandra Shah is an Indian politician who is currently serving as President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and as a member of the Rajya Sabha. The hashtag #GobackAmitShah has started trending nationally on Twitter following the arrival of the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, in Chennai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, faced similar opposition when he came to Chennai a few months ago to inaugurate the Defence Expo. At that time #GobackModi trended on Twitter. Amit Shah's visit is aimed at preparing the state unit for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Amit Shah's visit comes at a time when the State has been witnessing a series of protests - from anti-Sterlite protests to the protests against the Chennai-Salem Highway project. Recently Turnover of a company owned by Shah’s son Jay Shah's company increased 16,000 times over in the year. (i.e) just Rs 50,000 to over Rs 80,00,00,000 in a single year.
TN government passed Lokayukta Bill without public consultation.
A lot of Activists and residents protesting, posting messages on social media, and writing to Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar as well, asking him not to pass the bill without public consultation.
But today lokayukta bill tabled in TN Assembly. After this happend DMK legislators, led by party working president M K Stalin, walked out of the assembly. Anna Hazare started a hunger strike on to exert pressure on the Indian government to enact a stringent anti-corruption law, The Lokpal Bill, 2011 as envisaged in the Jan Lokpal Bill, for the institution of an ombudsman with the power to deal with corruption in public places. In 2010, Arvind Kejriwal who is 7th Chief Minister of Delhi and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, protested against corruption in the Commonwealth Games. He argued that the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) did not have any powers to take any action against the guilty, while CBI was incapable of launching an unbiased investigation against the ministers who controlled it. He advocated appointment of public ombudsman - Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states
