Mok-yeon, the vote for a new president on Sunday aims to sort out the political crisis in the aftermath of the October 2019 elections.
Evo Morales, who ran for a fourth consecutive term as president, was forced to resign over election fraud last year, following deadly protests that left dozens of people killed.
Bolivians, reviving memories of last year's chaos, say they hope for a peaceful election this time.
"The only thing I am hoping for with these elections is that the person who wins has feelings and is someone who listens to the Bolivian people.''
''I want peace. No more trouble. We don't want more spilt blood. No blood from any political party. We want peace, we want to live in freedom and in peace.''
Security measures have been put in place to ensure a transparent voting process this year.
But watchers fear Bolivians could face more weak governance and political volatility, especially as the country battles COVID-19.
