This is the moment a roaming bear takes a stroll in a Colorado neighbourhood and peaks inside a parked car for food. The incident was filmed at night in the city of Littleton in the US state of Colorado, and the footage was shared on Twitter by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) - Northwest Region. In the video, the bear can be seen lurking around a resident’s driveway, even standing up straight to take a good peek inside a parked car, apparently looking for something to snack on. CPW said on Twitter: “Increasing bear activity is being reported in the City of Littleton. Residents need to be sure to only put their trash out on the morning of collection, take down all bird-feeders, feed pets inside and do not leave any scented items in your cars.” On their website, CPW advises residents: “Today, bears share space with a rapidly growing human population. Black bears are curious, intelligent, and very resourceful; they will explore all possible food sources. “If they find food near homes, camp grounds, vehicles, or communities, they’ll come back for more. “Bears will work hard to get the calories they need, and can easily damage property, vehicles, and homes. Bears that become aggressive in their pursuit of an easy meal must often be destroyed. “Every time we’re forced to destroy a bear, it’s not just the bear that loses. We all lose a little piece of the wildness that makes Colorado so special. “So please, learn to protect bears by being ‘Bear Aware’.”
