3 years need to fix Vaal River pollution problem

The Water and Sanitation Department claims it will reduce pollution in the Vaal River system within the next three years. In 2019, the department contracted the services of the Ekhurhuleni water company Erwat to treat the river at a cost of more than R170 million. It has decided not to renew that relationship and says it will do the work itself. Was this a waste of money? Sputnik Ratau is with the department.
