Pore vacuums claim to extract blackheads and clogged pores. Blackhead removing devices, including vacuums, are incredibly popular. Insider producer Celia Skvaril decided to try out the AsperX Blackhead Vacuum with a built-in microscope. The microscope camera allows you to see what the vacuum is sucking out. Despite their popularity, pore vacuums are known to cause bruising. Celia spoke to licensed esthetician and YouTuber Nayamka Roberts-Smith about the causes and consequences of the bruising. Roberts-Smith also spoke about if she recommends pore vacuums and if she thinks their results are worth the damage they can cause.

Celia has been struggling with a bad acne breakout since November 2019. In “The Zit Fix,” she will be trying out a bunch of different products — microscope included — to see if they help her breakouts while getting help from experts along the way.
