Mongoose have a history with snakes. They have been fighting with snakes for so long. You can call them natural enemies. Mongoose sees snakes as a threat and that's why they fight with snakes. Snakes can be dangerous for the mongoose family so the mongoose tries to kill it before it can harm their family members. If a snake enters a mongoose territory then the mongoose will immediately attack the snake. Mongoose have antidotes to snakes venom and they are difficult to kill but that doesn't mean snakes cannot kill them. Snakes can kill mongoose but it will be tough. Mongoose usually fights against various species of cobras and other thin necked snakes but it will be difficult for the mongoose to fight against big python and anaconda because they have thick neck and they are heavy.
