South Korea will establish online delivery services at 500 traditional markets by 2025 in a bid to further bring local shops into the digital era.
Speaking at an economic ministerial meeting Thursday, Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki said the plan will support small businesses in the rapidly-evolving marketing landscape.
He also said the government will launch 100-thousand smart stores and 10-thousand craft shops that incorporate high-tech features.
Training will also be provided to some 50-thousand people.
He stressed the pivotal role small business owners play in South Korea's economy, and vowed to implement policies that make their lives easier.
