Baby hippo plays with mother in Spanish zoo

A baby hippopotamus plays with his mum as the two can be seen swimming underwater with a unique view that includes real fish. The video was recently shared to celebrate baby hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) Gori’s three-month birthday at the Bioparc Valencia Zoo located in the city of Valencia in the autonomous community with the same name on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. It is a sign of the hard work paying off for staff at the Spanish zoo who were keen to make the enclosure for their hippos as natural as possible by adding fish, but who first of all needed to work out what to do with the vast amount of poo they produce when swimming. Although hippos (Hippopotamus amphibious) are vegetarian, and would not eat the fish, they still posed a substantial threat because of the dung, which is toxic to some fish.
