12-year-old girl one of hundreds arrested in huge Hong Kong protest

Almost 300 people were arrested in Hong Kong on Sunday amid the largest street protest since 1 July, the first full day under the national security laws imposed by Beijing on the city. The laws outlawed acts of sedition, secession, foreign collusion and terrorism.
One particularly violent arrest involved a 12-year-old girl. About 2,000 police officers were deployed ahead of the protests, which had been planned by a coalition of pro-democracy groups to mark the day that Hong Kong’s elections were supposed to be held
