Typhoon Maysak expected to hit city of Gangneung on its way to N. Korea

Tracking the forecast path of the typhoon, let's move up north along the eastcoast to the city of Gangneung in Gangwon-do Province.
It's another coastal city bracing for storm tonight.
Our Kim Do-yeon is live at the scene by the pier to tell us how they're preparing for the latest typhoon of the season.
Do-yeon, we understand that the typhoon has not arrived there yet, but people are still being affected by it?
Yes Conn-young, I'm at Jumunjin Port in the city of Gangeung, Gangwon-do Province... on the east coast of the peninsula.
There are around 230 fishing ships at this port, and as of 6 AM today, the Donghae Coast Guard has restricted them from going out due to Typhoon Maysak.
In addition, the coast guard also conducted a series of safety examinations. Anyone who refuses to evacuate ships will face fines of around 1800 U.S. dollars.
The city's Mayor has also called for the relevant departments to be well-prepared, saying he will hold them responsible for any damage that is preventable.
The port is also known for its nearby seafood market.
Many vendors closed today and will do so tomorrow as well due to the typhoon.
One shop owner voiced her concern.
"We're very worried. Of course for the building itself, but the biggest concern is about the electricity. If there's a thunderstorm and we have a blackout, this will affect the live fish. We will need a quick response from the electricity company."

The forecast says that the city is expected to have 400 millimeters of rain as a direct result from the typhoon.
This is a period when the tide is at its highest, so the amount of rain and the waves can be a huge threat to people in coastal areas
In addition, when it does arrive here, wind speeds could reach up to 115 kilometers per hour.
