From Tuesday until the close of business Saturday, banks in the greater Seoul area will cut their opening times by an hour.
Banks in Seoul, its surrounding Gyeonggi-do Province and Incheon are opening 30 minutes later and closing 30 minutes earlier than usual.
That means banking hours will be 9-30 AM to 3-30 PM.
The measures are aimed at halting the spread of COVID-19 in the central region.
If the current social distancing level is extended or the level is raised, the shortening of opening hours will also be extended.
But as this is the first day, banks will open as usual at 9AM and close at 3-30.
