On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, the infinite form of Lord Vishnu is worshiped. On this day, 14 knots are made and an infinite thread is made, which is worshiped and tied on the arm. Ganesh Visarjan is also performed at many places on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. It is believed that God created 14 worlds in the material world including Bhurlok, Bhuvarlok, Swarlok, Maharlok, Janlok, Tapolok, Brahmlok, Atal, Vital, Sutle, Rastala, Talatal, Mahatal and Patala. It is believed that 14 bales of Anantasutra symbolize 14 worlds. It is also believed that one who observes Anant Chaturdashi fast for 14 years, attains Vishnu Loka. The Anant Sutra is tied by the men in the right and women in the left hand.

अनंत चतुर्दशी के दिन भगवान विष्णु के अनंत रूप की अराधना की जाती है। इस दिन 14 गांठें बनाकर एक अनंत धागा बनाया जाता है, जिसकी पूजा करने के बाद उसे बांह पर बांध लिया जाता है। अनंत चतुर्दशी के दिन ही कई जगह गणेश विसर्जन भी किया जाता है। मान्‍यता है कि भगवान ने भौतिक जगत में 14 लोक बनाए जिनमें भूर्लोक, भुवर्लोक, स्वर्लोक, महर्लोक, जनलोक, तपोलोक, ब्रह्मलोक, अतल, वितल, सतल, रसातल, तलातल, महातल और पाताल हैं। मान्यता है कि अनंतसूत्र के 14 गांठें 14 लोकों की प्रतीक होती हैं। यह भी मान्यता है कि जो 14 सालों तक लगातार अनंत चतुर्दशी का व्रत रखता है, उसे विष्णु लोक की प्राप्ति होती है। अनंत सूत्र को पुरुष दाहिने और महिलाएं बाएं हाथ में बांधती हैं।
