On this day in 1976, Michael Holding, bowled a fierce spell to take 14 wickets in the match against England at The Oval. On a batting paradise, Holding bounded to the crease like a turbo-charged engine to send shivers down the spine of the opposition ranks. Holding just took the pitch out of the equation by bowling at lightning quick pace. Only Denis Amiss, the Warwickshire opening partner was able to withstand Holding bowling with fire and brimstone.
