Calyx Co-Ed on cheerleading stereotypes

The captain of Malaysian cheerleading team Calyx Co-Ed says people don't recognise the extreme athleticism you need to be a cheerleader.

She also talks about how important it is to build trust among cheerleading teammates, 'cos you're constantly relying on someone else to make sure you don't fall.

Calyx Co-Ed will be competing with over 40 other teams at CHEER 2015, Malaysia's biggest cheerleading competition.

Every year, over 10,000 spectators show up for the CHEER Finals to watch the spectacular cheerleading stunts and routines, and to take in the electrifying atmosphere.

The CHEER 2015 finals will be held on Aug 15 at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, where all are welcome (admission is free) to witness the emotional climax of the teams' grueling seasons.
