Free State says its books are clean

'We have nothing to hide.' That is the word from the Free State treasury department. It is responding to allegations of PPE tender corruption. Newtongate - a company owned by radio personality Thuso Motaung’s son, Tebang was awarded two tenders amounting to almost R6 million combined. Motaung is also a senior employee in Premier Sisi Ntombela’s office. ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule’s two sons were also awarded PPE tenders in the province. That amounted to almost R3 million combined. Provincial treasury was responsible for the COVID-19 PPE tender processes.
