Beating poverty to become a success

Growing up in poverty may mean fewer opportunities, but it fashions some with a fighting spirit. And that is exactly what happened with Margareth Phalane. Her father was a gardener at a whites-only school during apartheid. She is now the principal at that very same school and has just earned a doctorate.
