The law and firearms

In July the Supreme Court of Appeal set aside an interdict preventing police from demanding that gun owners, whose licenses had expired, return their firearms to the state. We’re talking a lot of firepower here. Close to half a million gun owners could be pursued by police if they do not return their firearms. University of Western Cape Public Law and Jurisprudence lecturer Dr Windell Nortje speaks on this.
