Following a suggestion from US president that he would stop tiktok from operating in the US,
TikTok spokesperson Vanessa Pappas responded to Donald Trump's threat of a US ban by declaring: "We're not planning on going anywhere."
Earlier this week China dismissed the claims of top Republican senators that the app could meddle in US elections saying it had "absolutely no intention of interfering with the US election".
Spokesperson Vanessa Pappas said it was "here for the long run" and requested people to "stand for TikTok" in a video aimed at its supporters.
