Nasa’s latest rover Perseverance blasted off from Cape Canaveral in the US state of Florida on July 30, 2020, atop an Atlas V rocket on a mission to Mars. It will search for evidence of ancient microbial life on the red planet. Perseverance is also scheduled to deploy a mini-helicopter and try out equipment for future human missions to Mars.
