नेपाल के गंडक बराज से 5 लाख क्यूसेक पानी छोड़े जाने के बाद सारण में भी बाढ़ ने दस्तक दे दी है। जिसके बाद जिले के उत्तरी भाग पानापुर प्रखंड के दर्जनों गाँव पानी मे जल समाधि हो गए और कई जल समाधि लेने को तैयार है वही मुख्य सड़क से संपर्क लोगो का टूट चुका है। नाव ही एक मात्र साधन रह चुका है।ये सारण जिले के पानापुर प्रखंड के गंडक नदी का मुख्य बांध है जहां पर दर्जनों गाँवों ने जल में समाधि ले ली। मुख्य मार्ग से संपर्क गांव का टूट चुका है बांध के दूसरे तरफ भी लोगो मे भय बना हुआ है।
