Meet Amna Farooq, a successful Bellshill based Scottish Pakistani beauty entrepreneur. In an industry that is most certainly a crowded market it can be tough for young entrepreneurs to find their niche, however Amna’s dedication and hard work has brought her many successes. Amna won two UK national awards in 2018. She was awarded Best Makeup Artist at the Oracle Awards and Hair and Makeup Salon of the Year (North) at the British Asian Wedding Awards 2018. Amna’s salon was also nominated as Micro Business of the year at the first Scottish Asian Business Awards in 2019.
Amna is thankful to her colleagues and customers for their loyalty and support. Not only the Asian community encouraged her when she initially set up her salon, the white Scottish community also supported her.
Amna received her initial training at the London Beauty Academy and advanced makeup and hair style training from NK Academy Bradford, and has worked at top salons in London, Edinburgh and Livingston.
Scotistani aims to connect the diverse communities in Scotland as well as the Pakistani diaspora worldwide. Our objective is to promote cultural, educational and commercial ties between Scotland and Pakistan and celebrate all things - Scottish, Pakistani and Scotistani....
