Remdesivir, a treatment drug for COVID-19 that South Korean health authorities have approved,... is expected to be supplied to the country after import negotiations scheduled for August.
This comes as no other country will be able to import the drug for the time being with the drug prioritized to be used on patients within the U.S.
However, Seoul is mulling the possibility of using the drug for patients who are critically ill before the start of the official import procedures.
Developed by Gilead Sciences, Remdesivir is known to be effective in shortening recovery time from COVID-19.
