Two bull elephants lock horns during intense face-off over dominance

This is the moment two bull elephants lock horns in a short-lived but intense battle for dominance.

Edrich, the filmer, told Newsflare: "Establishing dominance is ongoing right through a male elephant's life. It always comes down to age, weight, and size. These battles usually last for a few brief moments, but when both male elephants are equal in size and weight, then it comes down to a longer battle.

"Eventually, one will give in and remain submissive to the other one, avoiding the risk of serious injury, which they cannot afford.

"To see these giants in action right in front of you is priceless."

The safari footage was recorded in Kruger National Park, South Africa, in August 2017.
