Earthquake Disaster Waiting to Happen? - Soft storey is a cause of Concern.

Earthquakes occur regularly in some parts of the world and buildings are built there to resist the horizontal forces caused by the seismic activity. But it is more dangerous in the other countries where earthquakes occur ocaissionally, causing intense damage to the property and loss of lives.

Unless a structure is properly designed and supervised for material quality, the weaknesses will get exposed causing irrepairable damage to the properties. Ignorance and complete disregard to the system of careful and safe designing leads to unsafe structures.

In this video, I have highlighted the importance of design check for a soft story. Every sane individual shall go through this video and check whether they live in a safe building and not in a building where earthquake disaster can strike due to a soft storey.
