Despite concerns about possible cluster infections, South Korea has confirmed it will go ahead as planned and open schools for elementary, middle and high school students next week.
The Vice Minister of Education, Park Baeg-beom , said in a briefing Thursday... that the attendance rate of high school seniors, who started attending class in person the previous day,... came to 95-point-2 percent.
This means more than 21-thousand high school seniors were unable to attend class on the first day... mainly because they had been advised by the government to stay home.
