Indian Space Research Organisation has successfully launched the GSLV-F08 carrying the GSAT6A communication satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. The launch was conducted from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 16.56 hours. The GSLV-F08 weights about 415.6 ton measuring 49.1 metre tall. The GSAT-6A satellite will be put into orbit around 17 minutes after the rocket's lift-off. It will provide a platform for developing technologies such as demonstration of 6m S-Band Unfurlable Antenna, handheld ground terminals and network management techniques.
