Australian tourist watches tree snake swallow a tokay gecko

This is the gruesome moment a hungry snake was seen eating a lizard while hanging down from a shed roof.

Australian traveller Jason Ellett recorded the two reptiles after he noticed them in his yard in Phuket island, southern Thailand on April 2.

The video shows the green tree snake slowly swallowing the tokay gecko after it had finished coiling around its victim to suffocate it.

Jason said: "This is one of my favourite things when travelling in Phuket. I'm sure that the wildlife can excite more tourists to visit here, too.''
