Relief money from the government will now be available for freelancers and other people not covered by employment insurance for example, home tutors, translators and gym teachers, to name a few.
The labor ministry made the announcement Thursday at an emergency meeting on the economy.
The one-time payments will be worth more than 12-hundred U.S. dollars, and are expected to benefit some 930-thousand people.
To be eligible, you have to make less than about 57-thousand U.S. dollars a year, or have a household income less than 150 percent of the average.
You also have to prove a decrease in your income from March to April,... though the standards for the decrease differ depending on income size.
