The latest research used data from the Kepler Space Telescope to compare the brightness of our sun with other similar stars elsewhere in the universe. According to new research, the sun appears to be less active than those hundreds of similar stars based on brightness variations.

जर्मनी के मैक्स प्लैंक इंस्टिट्यूट के ऐस्ट्रोनॉमर्स ने सूरज और उससे मिलते-जुलते सितारों को स्टडी किया है और पाया है कि सूरज की रोशनी पांच गुना कम हो गई है। अमेरिका की स्पेस एजेंसी नासा के केपलर स्पेस टेलिस्कोप से लिए गए डेटा के आधार पर यह स्टडी की गई थी। हमारी आकाशगंगा मिल्की वे के सितारों के तापमान, उम्र और रोटेशन के आधार पर सूरज की तुलना की गई। रीसर्चर्स के मुताबिक यह साफ नहीं है कि सूरज 9,000 साल से शांत हो गया है या इन सितारों से हमेशा से ही कम रोशन था।
