CDC: Suicide Attempts Are Not Only Rising, They're Getting More Lethal
- 4 years ago
UPI reports more Americans have attempted suicide in recent years -- and increasing numbers have 'succeeded.'
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say there were more than 1.2 million suicide attempts between 2006 and 2015.
There was also a 10% increase in incidents of people attempting suicide in the United States over the 10-year period.
In addition, the fatality rate from these incidents increased by 13% during the last decade.
The CDC says that figure suggests people may be choosing more "lethal" means in the attempts.
