Volunteers remove plastic jar from nursing dog's head in southern India

Volunteers affiliated with an animal rescue organisation helped a lactating mother dog after they saw the pooch struggle with a plastic jar stuck on its head in the southern Indian state of Telangana.

Rescuers found the dog in a garage in Pocharam region on March 26.

Visuals show rescuers catching hold of the dog as it tries to free itself from their grip.

The rescuers then place the dog on the ground while gently moving the jar.

Once it is loose, they slowly pull it out, freeing the dog's head, who runs away.

Later, a man is seen feeding biscuits to the dog.

The operation lasted for nearly 30 minutes.
