The government has vowed to ensure a safe voting environment for the general elections.
In a televised address Thursday, ministers from the foreign, interior and justice ministries said they will work together to observe a safe and fair election as concerns linger of the coronavirus outbreak.
They pledged disinfection of all voting and counting stations, and the establishment of separate polling stations for people showing symptoms.
They also stressed that people who violate election laws, especially on bribery and fake news would face stern legal action.
The government also asked for understanding over its decision to cancel overseas voting in region hit hard by the coronavirus.
