Coronavirus: US college suspends classes after initial resistance

Students at Liberty University, a Christian college in Virginia, react after the state’s governor enacted a stay-at-home order that led Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. to suspend the last remaining classes that were still taught on campus. Falwell Jr. had initially resisted the suspension of classes while other universities across the United States were shuttering amid the coronavirus pandemic. While universities in Virginia closed after spring break, about 2,000 Liberty University students returned to campus, including 750 international students. Three students have tested positive for the coronavirus and 14 have self-quarantined, according to Liberty University.
