The Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) has recommended for the movement control order (MCO) to be extended until April 28 to ensure a sustained zero Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.

The institute made this recommendation in a posting on its official Twitter account today, with an attached copy of an extract from a MIER analysis of the pandemic’s trajectory, dated March this year.

“Based on this, an extended MCO of minimum 14 days till April 14 to allow for no new cases reported, or a maximum 29 days till April 28 to include an additional 14 days to ensure a sustained zero-case presentation,” the extract read.
