In an unprecedented measure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a national lockdown for the next 21 days all across the country. Every state, district, and village across India will be under lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his second 8 pm address on the Covid-19 pandemic.
PM Modi said that India is at a stage where steps taken right now will determine whether we can beat this outbreak or not. While asserting the importance of social distancing and staying indoors, PM Modi said that this is the only way out now. "It took 66 days for one lakh people to test positive, it took only 11 days for this number to rise to two lakh, and, it took only four days for the number to rise to three lakh" PM Modi said while reiterating the seriousness of the situation.
Prime Minister said that the people of India will have to forget what it is like to go out for the next 21 days. He said that 21 days is a long time but it is the only way by which India can win the battle against Covid-19.
