Nirbhaya case: Convicts lawyer in Nirbhaya case AP Singh is not only known for his controversial remarks on gender-related crimes but has been repeatedly condemned for using loopholes in the law to defer execution of death penalty. Supreme Court dismissed one of the convicts of 2012 Delhi gangrape case, Pawan Gupta’s curative petition on March 02, a day before scheduled hanging of the four convicts. The petition had sought commutation of his death penalty to life imprisonment.
