The people of Kolkata got the gift of the East-West Metro project after a long wait. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off The project is about 16 km long which extends from Salt Lake Stadium to Howrah Maidan. Controversy is about whether West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is not named on the inauguration card. Mamta Banerjee is also angry with all the big leaders of TMC for not having a name on the card.

कोलकाता के लोगों को लंबे इंतजार के बाद ईस्ट-वेस्ट मेट्रो प्रोजेक्ट की सौगात मिली . रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने हरी झंडी दिखाइ ये प्रोजेक्ट करीब 16 किलोमीटर लंबा है जो सॉल्ट लेक स्टेडियम से हावड़ा मैदान तक फैला है. विवाद इस बात को लेकर है कि उद्घाटन कार्ड पर पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्य मंत्री ममता बनर्जी का नाम नहीं है. कार्ड पर नाम ना होने की वजह से टीएमसी के सभी बड़े नेताओं के साथ ममता बनर्जी भी इस बात से नाराज हैं.
