Bull has to be dug out of 30-foot-well in north India after falling in the dark

A bull which fell into a dry well in north India was rescued after a marathon five hour operation to dig it free.

The animal is believed to have fallen into the well on the night of February 12 near Farrukhabad, in the Kayamganj Mandi area, Uttar Pradesh.

Some villagers were passing through the area that morning, when they hears the bull's cries, they found the distressed animal and informed the police and forest department for help.

The rescue team dug up the adjacent area around the well and used an excavator to lift the bull free.

The animal received some scratches on its body, which were treated by vets.
