Indonesian residents use ropes to cross river after flooding destroys bridge

Residents of the Solok Regency of use ropes to cross a river after three-metre-high floods destroyed the bridge.

Filmed on February 8, a large group of locals can be seen attaching themselves to the rope via a harness and then being hauled over the fast-flowing river.

Of the 74 people trapped, only 10 wished to be evacuated as the others wanted to tend to their durian fields.
