Several remote villages in the south of Kashmir remain completely cut off from the district headquarters due to heavy snowfall.

Footage, recorded on Monday (January 27), shows snow accumulated on the road sides of Alipura and Hurpora villages, making it difficult for residents to leave their homes.

Visuals show heavy snowfall where the houses across the district are covered, while one man works to clear his car complete encased in snow.

According to local reports, villagers are demanding immediate clearance of roads, and restoration of power and water supplies in the area.

Sonam Lotus, the director of the meteorological department Jammu & Kashmir, said weather conditions will remain dry until mid-February when temperature will show a steady rise.
