How to Backup and Restore VLC Media Player Preferences and Interface on Windows 10?
Step 1: Press 'Windows + r' key on the keyboard to get run window.
Note: On Windows 10 the settings are stored in %appdata%\vlc directory.
Step 2: Type '%appdata%\vlc' without quotes in run window, and then click on 'ok' button.
Step 3: Now, you are in VLC Directory. You have two files named 'vlc-qt-interface.ini,' and 'vlcrc.'
Note: vlc-qt-interface.ini file is responsible for interface settings, and vlcrc file has the main program settings.
Step 4: Copy these two files mentioned in step 3. Go to the place where you want to have backup of these two files. Paste these two files over there.
Step 5: Whenever, you want to go back to previous settings of vlc. Just copy these two files (vlc-qt-interface.ini and vlcrc) from your backed up folder, and paste it in '%appdata%\vlc' directory, replacing the two files.
It's done.
